I worked on Descente’s site as a sub-contractor. I did the photoshop psd to template conversion, and kind of winged the interior pages based on that. Also, I set up the ecommerce (joomla – virtuemart).![]()
I first began working with the MRL in 2005 when I built a custom CMS from scratch so they could update their website more easily. Their needs expanded so I migrated that custom site to a Joomla 1.5 installation in 2009 in order to utilize the built in functionality and available add-ons. Lab members update the site as needed. I continue to manage joomla and component updates. Occasionally they need new functionality as well.
Dr Gregory Shaker’s site is done in WordPress using a customized Suffusion theme, Creative Clans slideshow and NextGen Gallery. Dr. Shaker wanted a basic site where new and existing patients could find him on the web, download registration forms and get general office information.
Without Paris is a popular cover band in Southern NH, playing at clubs throughout the region. They had their domain name and a presskit that was used for the look and feel of the site. They wanted all the multimedia options – slideshow, video and photogallery – plus a mailing list, band member bios, playlist and most importantly, their gig schedule. So I set up their hosting account and was off and running. I still do the site maintenance, mail blasts, updates, etc.
I worked on the Western Folklife Center site as a sub-contractor. It is a second (third?) generation site and currently lives in Joomla 1.5. Some of the things I was responsible for:
- Site assessment, planning and component research
- Site Migration from joomla 1.0 to 1.5
- Two custom Joomla templates built from psds delivered by a designer (one for main site and one for the National Cowboy Poetry Gathering microsite)
- Menu development
- adaptation of a custom ticket purchasing system inherited from a previous incarnation of the site
- maintaining a custom donation and membership system inherited from a previous incarnation of the site
- Implementation and design of an online Gallery of exhibits from the Center’s programs using a the joomgallery component
- Virtuemart troubleshooting
I worked on the Monstermural site as a subcontractor. It was built using Smarty templates, in which I am not a pro by any definition, but I managed to get by. Some of the things I was responsible for:
- troubleshooting and fixing issues
- the template from a psd
- maintenance of mechanics of the shopping cart which is a custom creation by ?
- setting up the payment gateway
- tweaking the sql queries and php/javascript functions as the requirements were defined (and re-defined)
- Random “OMG Something broke and I have a trade show tomorrow. can you fix it?” issues.
